I was born in Rio de Janeiro, but I grew up in Recife, Brazil.
I have a bachelor’s (2008) and a master’s degree (2010) in pure mathematics, obtained at the Math Department of Federal University of Pernambuco, in Recife, Brazil.
I am a PhD (2014) in Combinatorics and Optimization from the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Canada. My supervisor was Prof. Chris Godsil. My thesis was about applying spectral graph theory to study quantum state transfer in graphs.
I stayed as postdoctoral researcher in Waterloo for one year, and then for another year at the Dept. of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo.
Since 2017 I am an assistant professor (tenure-track) at the Dept. of Computer Science of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
