Who am I?

I grew up in Recife, Brazil.

I have a bachelor’s (2008) and a master’s degree (2010) in pure mathematics, obtained at the Math Department of Federal University of Pernambuco, in Recife, Brazil.

I am a PhD (2014) in Combinatorics and Optimization from the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Canada. My supervisor was Prof. Chris Godsil. My thesis was about applying spectral graph theory to study quantum state transfer in graphs.

I stayed as postdoctoral researcher in Waterloo for one year, and then for another year at the Dept. of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo.

Since 2017 I am a professor (now tenured) at the Dept. of Computer Science of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.

PhD Thesis

Master Thesis (in portuguese)

This is me talking about Algebraic Graph Theory (in Portuguese)

This is me talking about one of my favourite problems in the interplay between quantum information and algebraic graph theory, at an online seminar series in September 2020.

This is me talking about some other open problems at a workshop in Banff, in April 2019
