The CPAR-DSM system, presented in this article, provides a programming
language based on shared variables, besides a run-time support that is
specific to distributed systems. Task parallelism in different levels of
granularity, possibility of hierarchical shared memory structuring,
data-paralelism with static and dynamic iterations assignment to processors,
a task scheduling that explores data locality, gather of variables and
partitioning of vectors are some of the facilities that the CPAR-DSM
system offers.
