Functional languages provide a higher level of abstractions, which brings hope for better software engineering in designing and protopyping, than most of mainstream languages. Haskell is a modern pure lazy functional language that has become international standard. uTCMC is an abstract machine for the efficient implementation of Haskell. This article presents uTCMC and some of its optimisations.
