Soffia

My name is Arnbjörg Soffía, but I go by Soffia outside my home country of Iceland. I am currently a postdoc at the University of Iceland. I was previously a postdoc at UFMG in Belo Horizonte, Brazil working with Gabriel Coutinho and before that, I was a postdoc at the Technical University of Denmark, where I worked with David Roberson and Carsten Thomassen.

I completed my PhD in algebraic graph theory from the University of Waterloo in 2022 where I worked under the supervision of Chris Godsil. My thesis was on quantum walks on Cayley graphs. I did my Bachelors and Masters in math at the University of Iceland. In my Masters I worked under the supervision of Rögnvaldur G. Möller and my thesis was on group actions on infinite graphs.

When I'm not doing math, I like to spend my time hiking, climbing, singing, gardening, knitting or trying to play the ukulele. I have a cat, Mía, you can find a picture of her here.
