Raquel C. de Melo Minardi is Associate Professor at Computer Science Department of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
She holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2008) and a degree in Computer Science from the same institution (2004). She did his postdoctoral work at the Comissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives / CEA in France (2008/2009). She is an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2019-2023). He works as a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Computer Science (level 7 of CAPES) and in the Graduate Program in Bioinformatics (level 7 of CAPES). She is sub-coordinator of the Graduate Program in Bioinformatics at UFMG (2020-2021 and 2022-2024 management), secretary of the central-southeast regional of the Brazilian Association of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (AB3C) and coordinator of the special committee on Computational Biology of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) (2023) (she was vice-coordinator of the same committee in 2022). Her main research interests are Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, artificial intelligence and Data Visualization.
