Research
My research interests encompass large-scale search and recommendation, with an emphasis on the use of artificial intelligence for information access across the Web, social media, and enterprise settings. As a result of my work, I have contributed to the open-source Terrier Information Retrieval platform and published over 100 research papers in leading international conferences and journals. In particular, I am a regular speaker and senior program committee member of several premiere conferences in IR, including SIGIR, CIKM, WWW, WSDM, RecSys, ECIR, ICTIR, AIRS, and SPIRE. I received the best paper award at RecSys 2015 and best paper runner-up award at RecSys 2020. In addition, I have served in the organization committee of WSDM 2016, RecSys 2020, SIGIR 2021, CIKM 2023, UMAP 2024, SIGIR 2025, WSDM 2026, and RecSys 2027, and currently serve as steering committee member for RecSys and as a member of the editorial boards of ACM Transactions on Information Systems and Foundations and Trends in Information Retrieval.
